The BiOrb® 12V Air Pump works hard 24/7, and it will eventually wear out. It may be evident by increased noise or less vigorous bubbling. At this point, it may be time to replace your air pump. It is recommended to contact the manufacturer for troubleshooting as the problem may be the airstone or transformer rather than the pump itself.
When your air pump stops working, replace it as soon as you can to minimize interruption to the filtration. It is advisable to keep a spare air pump so that if it fails you can replace it straight away. Replacing the air pump is simply a case of unplugging the old and plugging in the new. If the bubbles have stopped, check that the problem is not simply a clogged air stone.
