Matala Spectrum Stainless Steel Ultraviolet Clarifiers

Matala Spectrum Stainless Steel Ultraviolet Clarifiers are high-output units designed to help bring you perfect water clarity. These easy-to-install clarifiers require little maintenance and boast a long service life.

• High-output Philips UV bulbs and high-quality quartz sleeves to maintain an output of 254nm
• High-output bulbs and large body diameter allow high flow rates
• Visual LED display indicates when unit requires service
• Polished stainless steel reactor increases UV reflection by 30%
• There is a 2" inlet / outlet with male threads on the 40w, 75w, and 150w units with optional 2" unions.   There is a 3" inlet / outlet with male pipe threads on the 300w unit with optional 3" unions.  
• Includes 15' power cord with in-line transformer
• All Matala UV units come with electronic ballasts which can be used on 115v or 230v and are more environmentally friendly than magnetic ballasts.  However, electronic ballasts are more sensitive and should not be used with damaged bulbs.
• ALL ballasts should be treated with reasonable care.  Do not bury them in the ground were they may be stepped on or sitting in standing water.  Hang your ballasts out of the way and out of the worst direct force of the elements whenever possible.  Use a "drip loop" in the cord to deflect water away from the ballast. 
• Stainless Steel UV's are polished inside to create a reflective surface that further enhances the effectiveness of your UV.
• Note that these units are made of 304 Stainless, not 316 stainless. Therefore, while they are robust and durable, they are not intended for us with marine level salt water or chlorine.   

Why do I Need a Clarifier?
Even in a balanced pond ecosystem, poor water conditions can occur due to abnormal changes of weather, fish feeding behavior, mineral nutrient levels, etc. If not treated, these conditions may result in low oxygen levels or weakened health conditions for fish and aquatic plants.
