The manufacturer asserts that Kenzen Koi Food can be fed down to 36°F, though the amount must be decreased as Koi activity decreases in colder temperatures. Large accumulation of fish waste is an indicator that too much food is being given and is thus wasted. Above 45°F, feed two meals per day. Between 40°F and 45°F, feed one meal per day. Between 36°F and 40°F, feed only once every 2-3 days.
However, Practical Garden Ponds recommends a more conservative approach of stopping all fish feedings below 50°F, regardless of brand.
